Iceberg Salat Centar implements the IFS – an international standard for food product quality control, developed to verify the competence of food producers in terms of safety, but also quality.
IFS is nowadays a widely applied, world renowned standard for food safety control and producer quality. IFS, is based on the principle of traceability – the ability to “monitor” the quality and safety of the product, from producer to end user, at all times, during every stage of production and distribution.
Employing the IFS standard builds consumer confidence and protects their interests by producing safe, high quality products, whilst also improving cost efficiency and overall turnover in the food production chain.
The main objectives of the IFS standard include:
- Establishing a common standard with a single, uniform rating system
- Cooperating with accredited certification bodies and highly qualified and certified assessors
- Ensuring comparability and transparency across the entire supply chain
- Reducing costs and saving time for both suppliers and retailers
