Jelena Popovi\u0107 – Buji\u0107<\/strong>, on behalf of Iceberg Salat Centar, is the winner of the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the YearTM Award, traditionally given by the international auditing and consulting company EY (Ernst & Young<\/a>) to the best domestic entrepreneurs. The Award was presented to her by Darko Bude\u010d, the President of the Independent Jury Panel, Ivan Raki\u0107, EY Managing Partner for Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina and Dragan Filipovi\u0107, President of the Executive Board and CEO of Generali Insurance Serbia, the general sponsor of the program.<\/p>\n

“This is a truly remarkable experience and I am extremely proud that we have followed our visions and goals that led us to this achievement. I need to stress out how immensely glad I am that on the tenth anniversary of this extraordinary program, the prize was awarded to a woman. It is a great honor for me to represent Serbia in Monte Carlo,” said Jelena Popovi\u0107-Buji\u0107, the recipient of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award.<\/p>\n

Iceberg Salat Centar was founded in 1990 in order to produce Iceberg lettuce, which had not been grown in Serbia until then. Today, it is engaged in the cultivation of all types of lettuce, as well as processing and distributing 180 items from the vegetable and fruit segment. The company was founded by Mr. Predrag Popovi\u0107, and today it is run by his daughter, Jelena Popovi\u0107-Buji\u0107.<\/p>\n

With over 120 employees, the company delivers its produce to McDonald’s<\/a>, retail chains in Serbia and the region, as well as renowned restaurants and hotels. In order to increase the export capacity, in 2021 Iceberg Salat Centar invested in the launch of the most modern agricultural production of lettuce on 47 hectares in Besni Fok.<\/p>\n
